Procedure:
Count the number of initials of each organism in the research grid, then enter the name under Organism and the number in the first column on your worksheet.
To complete an actual field trip, you would then place your grid down randomly on the 30-meter line you established; identify the number of organisms, enter them on this (downloadable) worksheet, and then calculate the Diversity Index.
In order to calculate the Diversity Index on this virtual High Wave Impact Beach field trip, research the other nine quadrants in the study.
