Welcome to the NORFOLK CANYON, Virginia Marine Science Museum's 300,000 gallon saltwater exhibit, known to some as "The Shark Tank"! The exhibit theme is "Fishes of Virginia's ocean coastline," and as of February, 1997 exhibits 20 species of fish:

- Atlantic stingray
- Bluntnose stingray
- Southern stingray
- Roughtail stingray

- Water depth: approximately 18 feet
- Three areas provide different viewing experiences:

- Water clarity and health is maintained by a state-of-the-art filtration system which incorporates biological, mechanical, and chemical filtration methods. Ozone application is part of this dynamic filtration system.
- Staff divers enter the exhibit using SCUBA on a regular basis to clean and do needed repairs of the exhibitry and rockwork, and to assess the health of the collection.
